Gloria R. Gowen

Mrs. Gloria Ann Rogers Gowan, age 78, wife of Mickey Gowan of 134 West Springs Ballfield Rd., Pauline, passed away Thursday, August 31, 2017 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. Mrs. Gowan was born May 20, 1939 in Spartanburg, SC a daughter of the late A.Z. Rogers and Lessie Parton Rogers. She was a graduate of Union High School and retired from Torrington and Co.-Tiger River Plant. Also Gloria enjoyed preforming as "Glory Bee," the Clown for many children's birthday parties. She was a member of Bogansville United Methodist Church. Mrs. Gowan was the last surviving member of eight children. Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters, Sheila Gowan of Buffalo and Ann Belk and husband Clint of Cape Coral, FL; several nieces and nephews; and a special little girl, Addie Duncan of West Springs. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, September 3, 2017 at Bogansville United Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. Don Alexander and Rev. Richard Lewis. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Keith Wright, Robert Edens, Alan Harvey, Tim West, Lewis Lancaster, and Marshall Bogan. Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM prior to the services at the church.
