Grace H. Parkins

Grace H. Parkins Union, SC Mrs. Grace Humphries Parkins, age 72, of 1402 Peach Orchard Rd., Union, widow of Frankin D. Parkins, passed away Thursday, January 22, 2015 at Providence Hospital in Columbia. Mrs. Parkins was born in Shelby, NC, August 4, 1942 a daughter of the late Willie Lee Humphries and Vernie Odessa Horne Humphries. She was formerly employed with Conso Products and had also worked at Ellen Sagar Nusing Home. Mrs. Parkins was a member of Calvary Free Will Baptist Church. Surviving are a daughter, Audrey P. Tidwell and husband Lewis of West Columbia; a son, Franklin D. "Dale" Parkins, II of the home; two sisters, Carolyn H. McAbee and Patricia H. McAbee; three brothers, Tommy Humphries, Doug Humphries and Jimmy Humphries all of Union; a granddaughter, Brianna Jade Parkins, and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Parkins was predeceased by an infant son, Jerry Reed Parkins, a sister, Melva Faye Lawson and a brother, Dennis Humphries. A memorial graveside service will be held 3:30PM Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Fairforest Baptist Church Cemetery by Kevin Mace. The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Grace H. Parkins Fund, P.O. Box 293, Union, SC 29379. The family will be at their respective homes.
