Harold Dean Beard

May 12, 2016 Mr. Harold Dean Beard, age 77, husband of Mae Frances Collins Beard of 88 Abby Lane, Clyde, NC, passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2016. Mr. Beard was born in Union, SC January 23, 1939, a son of the late James Morgan Beard and Helen Morris Beard Sanford. He was a musician and attended the Church of God. Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, DeWayne Beard and his mother, Carolyn Beard of Pacolet; a step-son, Andrew Traywick of Niceville, FL; a sister: Cora Revis of Union; a sister-in-law, Diane Beard of Union; two grandchildren: Joshua DeWayne Beard and Dustin Blake Beard; two step-grandchildren: Christin Traywick and Nicholas Traywick; two aunts and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Beard was predeceased by a sister, Shirley Taylor and a brother, Donald Beard. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, May 15, 2016 at SR Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Tyler Nations. Burial will be in Rosemont Cemetery. Visitation will be held 2:00-3:00 PM Sunday in the chapel prior to the service. Musician friends of Mr. Beard's will serve as the Honorary Escort Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice. The family is at the home of his sister-in-law, Diane Beard, 105 N. Boyce Street, Union.
