Harold S. Blackmon, Sr.

Mr. Harold S. Blackmon, Sr., age 94, of 714 Arthur Blvd., Union, widower of Wallace Erma Sprouse Blackmon, passed away Thursday, November 5, 2015 at his home. Mr. Blackmon was born on April 26, 1921 in Heathsprings, SC a son of the late Thomas Mickle Blackmon and Margaret Creighton Blackmon. He was a graduate of Lancaster High School. Mr. Blackmon was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy and was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Surviving are a daughter, JoAnne Lipscomb and husband Jerry of Union; a son, Harold Blackmon Jr. and wife Virginia of Union; four grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Private graveside services were held 11:00 AM Friday, November 6, 2015 at Union Memorial Gardens conducted by the Rev. David Bauknight. Memorials may be made to Grace United Methodist Church, 201 S.
