August 25, 2017 Mr. Harold Lee "Fireball" Riley, age 80 of 134 Alice Lane, Union, passed away Thursday, August 24, 2017 at Union Medical Center. Mr. Riley was born in Buffalo, SC June 15, 1937 a son of the late Sanders Riley and Bessie Lee Bennett Riley. He was retired from United Merchants - Union Mill and worked with his daughter at Union Skate Center for the past 18 years. Mr. Riley was also a Veteran of the United States Army Reserves. Surviving are two daughters, Tracy R. Harris and husband Harold of Union; Teresa R. Black and husband Dale of Kings Mountain, NC; one brother, Perry "Dimp" Riley and wife Frances of Rock Hill; one nephew, Perry Riley, Jr.; seven grandchildren, Kristen Harris, MacKenzie Harris, Lyann Yarbrough, David Sullivan, Joann Sullivan, Joshua Sullivan and Devin Sullivan; and three great-grandchildren, Mason Horton, Melia Sullivan, and Bryson Sullivan. He was predeceased by one daughter, Lisa Michelle Riley and his mother-in-law, Alice Justice Williford. Graveside services will be held 4:00 PM Sunday, August 27, 2017 at Cullowhee Baptist Church Cemetery in Cullowhee, NC. Active pallbearers will be Jeff Gibbs, Jared Gibbs, Harold Harris, Joshua Sullivan, Tyler Black and Billy Joe Sullivan. Visitation will be held Saturday evening from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Association: JDRF, 26 Broadway, 14th Floor, New York, NY 10004 or to the American Kidney Fund, PO Box 11921 Rockville Pike, Suite 300, Rockville, MD 20852. The family is at the home of his daughter, Tracy and Harold Harris, 311 Partridge Road, Union, SC 29379.
