Harold Dean Lane, Union, Sc Sr.

Mr. Harold Dean Lane, Sr., age 75, of 161 Lane Rd., Union, widower of Rebecca Williford Lane, passed away Sunday, August 24, 2014 at Spartanburg Hospital for Restorative Care. Mr. Lane was born in Union, May 4, 1939, a son of the late Bert and Annie Belle Hyder Lane. He was retired from Cone Mill, Carlisle Finishing and was a member of Welcome Baptist Church. Surviving are a daughter, Sherri L. Franklin and husband Phillip of Union; a son, Harold Dean Lane, Jr. and wife Lisa of Fountain Inn; a sister, Ada Hall of Union; five grandchildren, Lee Franklin and wife Heather, Kacie Davis and husband Lee, Courtney Franklin, Mitch Lane and Shannon Lane and one great-grandson, Lucas Franklin. Mr. Lane was predeceased by two sisters, Pauline L. Smith and Mable L. Adams and seven brothers, Ernest, Guy, Paul, Floyd Leo, J.B, James and Hamp Lane. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at Welcome Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Robert Jarvis and Rev. Lee Franklin. Burial will be in the Hawkins-Lane Cemetery. Mr. Lane's nephews will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Monday evening at Welcome Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to Welcome Baptist Church, 206 Nichols Ave., Union, SC 29379. The family will be at the home of his daughter, Sherri and Phillip Franklin, 152 Lane Rd., Union.
