Harold Loyd Thompson

January 8, 2019 Mr. Harold Loyd Thompson, age 81, of 119 Baber St., Union, passed away Sunday, January 6, 2019. Mr. Thompson was born November 27, 1937 in Union, a son of the late Eddie William Thompson and Pearl Kathleen Horne Thompson. He was retired as a self-employed painter. Mr. Thompson was of the Baptist Faith. He was lovingly called "Guitar" and was involved most of his life in music playing the guitar and was an original member of the Horseshoe Music Club. Surviving are four sons, Lynn Thompson of Union, Ricky Thompson of Greenwood, Robert Thompson of Rock Hill, and Gerald Thompson of Rock Hill; two sisters, Louise T. Grady and husband Sonny of Cross Keys and Shirley T. Lancaster and husband James of Union and three grandchildren. He was predeceased by one sister, Dot T. Robinson and four brothers, Ralph Thompson, Fred Thompson, Eddie Barney Thompson, and Bobby Thompson. Memorial services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, January 10, 2019 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by the Rev. Bob Cato. Visitation will be held from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the services at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel. The family is at their respective homes.
