Mr. Harold Dean Youngblood, age 82, husband of Eleanor Scott Youngblood, of 3387 Buffalo West Springs Hwy., Union, passed away Friday, January 13, 2017 at Ellen Sagar Nursing Center. Mr. Youngblood was born in Union, September 29, 1934 a son of the late Theodore and Ruby L. Youngblood. He was first married to the late Natalie Youngblood. Mr. Youngblood was retired Sargent 1stClass from the United States Army after 30 years. He was the owner and founder of Dairy Queen in Union with his wife Natalie and their children Terry and Deanna from 1969 to 1978 when they changed it to Deanna's Drive-In in 1978 and sold it in 1982. Mr. Youngblood opened Buffalo Fish Camp in 1978 and later sold it in 1981. In 1982 he and his wife Natalie moved to Myrtle Beach. Upon returning to Union in 1986, Mr. Youngblood opened Mr. K's Party Shop, named after his grandson Kevin, specializing in Mr. K's fried chicken. Mr. Youngblood and his son co-owned and operated Youngblood & Son Construction Company from 1972 until his retirement in 1995. As long as his health permitted he had a barbeque business at home with his wife Eleanor. Surviving in addition to his wife are one daughter, Deanna Arnold and husband Dan of Union; one son , Terry Youngblood and wife Diane of Jonesville; two stepchildren, Ricky Scott and wife Glynnette of Buffalo and Pamela Gilliam of Spartanburg; three grandchildren, Ashley West and husband Cory of Jonesville, Kevin Youngblood and wife Cindy of Jonesville, and Justin Arnold of Augusta, GA; two step grandchildren, Derek Scott and wife Tonya of Greer and Heather McCaskill and husband Scott of Lexington; great-grandchildren, Natalyn Kate West and another expected in April, Calleigh Jayne Youngblood; and eight step-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a step-son, Sammy Scott Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, January 15, 2017 at Putman Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Tommy Mann and Rev. Don Tillman. Burial with full Military Honors will follow in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Steve Youngblood, Jimmy Youngblood, Lee Wayne Youngblood, Johnny Ray Youngblood, Larry Lancaster, Richie Lancaster, Trey Newton, and Marshall O'Shields. The following are asked to sit in a group and form the honorary escort, Glen Caldwell, Leon Smith, Gerald Graham, Russ Ratliff, C.W. Garner, Jan Gunter, Clarence Cook, Bruce Burgess, Wallace Russell, Mike Nichols, Tim Sizemore, Harold Gregory, Scott Childers, Mickey Gist, Gerald Steagall, David Taylor, Col. Homer Price, Dr. Ronald Littlefield, Staff of Ellen Sagar Nursing Center, the Deacons of Putman Baptist Church and the Victory Bible Class of Putman Baptist Church. Visitation will be held. Saturday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Saturday evening at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home. The family is at the home of his son Terry Youngblood and wife Diane, 768 New Hope Church Rd., Jonesville, SC 29353.
