Harry W. Burgess

Harry W. Burgess Union, SC Mr. Harry Wilson Burgess, age 72, of Union, passed away Saturday, January 10, 2015 at Wallace Thomson Hospital. Mr. Burgess was born in Union, February 9, 1942, a son of the late Woodrow Wilson Burgess and Bertha McCall Burgess. He was retired from Conso Products and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. Mr. Burgess loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman. Surviving are a sister, Carolyn Turner and special friend, Bruce Sanders; a twin brother, Larry Burgess and wife Jean; and Mr. Burgess' fiancée, Doris Dover all of Union. Mr. Burgess is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Brenda B. Coker. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at New Hope Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Johnny Burgess. Burial will be at Union Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Larry Burgess, Jr., Ray Burgess, Eric Turner, Benji Keisler, Harold Pharr and Joe Wade. Visitation will be held from 1:00 until 2:00 PM Tuesday at the church prior to the services. Memorials may be made to the Harry W. Burgess Fund, P.O. Box 293, Union, SC 29379. The family will be at the home of his niece, Kelley and Benji Keisler, 113 Wardlaw St., Union.
