Harry Preston Mccutcheon, Jr.

Mr. Harry Preston McCutcheon, Jr., age 91, of 141 Wildwood Lane, Union, widower of Nellie Bennett McCutcheon, passed away Friday, September 18, 2015 at his home. Mr. McCutcheon was born in Union, June 13, 1924, a son of the late Harry Preston McCutcheon, Sr. and Mamie Hull McCutcheon. He was retired from Roper Chevrolet and was a veteran of the US Navy having served during WWII. Mr. McCutcheon was a member of Lockhart Baptist Church and attended Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church. Surviving are a daughter, Harriet O'Dell of Mauldin; a son, Paul J. McCutcheon and wife Cheryl of Union; a sister, Joye Sue Jones of Georgia, six grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, September 21, 2015 at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Jim Harper. The family will receive friends immediately following the services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lockhart First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 190, Lockhart, SC 29364 or to Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, 373 Wesley Chapel Rd., Union, SC 29379. The family will be at the home of his grandson, Paul Brady, 133 Wildwood Lane, Union.
