October 12, 2015 Mrs. Hazel Lawson Bobo, age 85, wife of 67 years to Samuel M. Bobo of 212 Davis St., Union, passed away Sunday, October 11, 2015 at her home. Mrs. Bobo was born in Cross Keys, January 6, 1930, a daughter of the late Roy T. and Pearl Lawson. She was retired from Conso Products and was previously employed with Milliken Co., Ottaray Plant. Mrs. Bobo was a member of Mon Aetna Baptist Church where she was a member of the Faye Teague Sunday School Class and the Frances Roberts Circle. Mrs. Bobo and her husband were member of the Order of the Amaranth, Union Lodge. Surviving in addition to her husband are a daughter, Teresa Henderson and husband Tony of Union, two sons, Samuel E. "Gene" Bobo, Sr. and wife Kathy of Union and Donald Ray Bobo, Sr. of Spartanburg; a sister, Carol Cookson and husband Harold "Bud" of Union; a brother, Harold Lawson and wife Bobbie Jean of Pacolet; seventeen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. Mrs. Bobo was predeceased by a daughter-in-law, Gloria Bobo; six sisters, Lizzie Mae Crawford, Gladys Boulware, Lena Bobo, Mildred Lawson, Martha Copeland and Myrtle Weaver; and two brothers, States Lawson and R.T. Lawson. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at Mon Aetna Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Chris Gullige, Rev. Benny Green, and Chaplain Tim Thompson. Burial will be at Union Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be the following grandsons, Anthony Henderson, Gordon Henderson, Andrew Clary, Caleb Inglett, Dakota Rholetter, Eli Clary, Russ Inglett and Allen Rholetter. The following are asked to form the honorary escort, remaining grandchildren, the Faye Teague Sunday School Class, the Frances Roberts Circle, the Senior Citizen's Breakfast Group, the nurses and staff of Hospice Care of SC, Dr. Jeffery Craft and a special neighbor and friend, Jane Ledford. Visitation will be from 1:00 until 3:00 PM Tuesday at the church prior to the services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mon Aetna Baptist Church, Debt Reduction Fund, 1431 Lockhart Hwy., Union, SC 29379 or to Hospice Care of SC, 408 N. Duncan ByPass, Suite 200, Union, SC 29379 or to a charity of one's choice. The family will be at the home, 212 Davis St., Union.
