Mrs. Hazel Harris Minor, age 81 of 1202 Pineland Rd., Union, widow of James "Sonny" Minor, passed away Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at Wallace Thomson Hospital. Mrs. Minor was born in Union, SC May 29, 1933, a daughter of the late William Bryan Harris and Lois Gault Harris. She retired from Spartan Mills and was a member of Duncan Acres United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Mary Lybrand Sunday School Class. Surviving are three daughters: Sonya Cohen, Debbie Lominack and husband Kenny and Emily Cannon and husband Jeff; ten grandchildren: David Kingsmore and wife Amy, Melanie Barnett and husband Scott, Holly Lawson and husband Joey, Dana Mason and husband Lee, Lisa Lominack, Lesley Kingsmore, Andy Lominack and wife Kate, Rhett Cannon, Peyton Cannon and Olivia Cannon; twelve great-grandchildren: Matthew and Bryce Barnett, Jordan Lawson, Carlee and Drew Mason, Bailey and Bradon Kingsmore, Hannah Liner, Dylan and Destiny Sanders and Gabriel and Benjamin Lominack; two sisters: Lillie Mae Frost and husband Roy and Wilhelmina Gault; a brother, Roger Harris and a special son and daughter, David and Mary Arnold and special grandchildren, Nathan, Matthew and Bella Arnold. Mrs. Minor was predeceased by a brother, Lewis Bud Harris. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, November 14, 2014 at Duncan Acres United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Merritt Wentz. Burial will be in Union Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Jody Gault, Stanley Griffen, Joe Wade, Stanley Gallman, Randy Morrison, Matthew Arnold, Nathan Arnold and Graham Gault. Members of the Mary Lybrand Sunday School Class, the staff of the Surgical Department, ICU and ER Department of Wallace Thomson Hospital along with Dr. Robert Yannetti and Dr. Henry Jordan are asked to sit in a group. Joan Sumner, Gene and Barbara Gregory, Amanda Gregory Leigh and Anna Harris are asked to serve as the honorary escort. Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday evening at SR Holcombe Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Epworth Children's Home, 2900 Millwood Avenue, Columbia, SC 29205. The family is at the home, 1202 Pineland Rd., Union, SC 29379.
