Hazel M. Swanson

Mrs. Hazel Marie Swanson, age 81, of 159 Parks Lane, Union, SC, passed away at her home Saturday afternoon, July 27, 2019. She was the widow of Robert Swanson. Mrs. Swanson was born in Union County, South Carolina on May 03, 1938, a daughter of the late Coley L. Mosley, Sr. and Elmina Tabitha Hipps Mosley. She was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church and was retired from Conso Products Company. Prior to working at Conso, Mrs. Swanson was employed in the home healthcare field. Hazel was a loving and caring mother and grandmother, who was also faithful and devoted her extended family. She provided love and comfort to Anna and Jack her beloved dogs that never lacked for attention. Mrs. Swanson is survived by her daughter Donna Wilson Nance of the home; a son-in-law, Mike Nance of Union; one grandson, Michael Kyle Nance of Union; five granddaughters: Sarah Marie Wilson and Ashley Wilson both of Union, Brooke Smith and husband Kyle of Hartsville, SC, Deidre Foster and husband Michael of Gaffney and Heather Wilson of Union; one brother Larry Joe Mosley, Sr. and wife Debra of Inman; and a special friend and the father of her children, Evans Wilson. She was pre-deceased by two sons: Michael Evans Wilson and Ricky Goodwin Wilson; two brothers: James "Buddy" Mosley and Coley Mosley, Jr. and a sister, Betty Jean Becknell. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at Lakeside Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Scott Cobb and Hazel's brother Joe Mosley. Interment will follow in Union Memorial Gardens. Active Pallbearer will be: Larry Joe Mosley, Jr., Vernon Mosley, Stanley Mosley, Tim Gaston, David Patterson, Frank Bobo, Jr. and Chris Brotz. Visitation will be held at Lakeside Baptist Church Prior to the funeral service Tuesday from 2:00 until 3:00.
