Helen Grady Davis

Mrs. Helen Elizabeth Grady Davis, age 81 of 114 Pinewood Acres Rd., Union, widow of John Kenneth Davis, passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Davis was born in Union, SC October 17, 1932, a daughter of the late John R. Grady and Pauline Farr Grady. She was a graduate of Union High School and retired from Milliken & Company - Cedar Hill Plant. Upon retirement, Mrs. Davis worked at Graham Cash. She was a member of Mon Aetna Baptist Church. Surviving are a son, Steve Davis and wife Kitty of Union; a granddaughter, Amy Barber Livingston and husband Billy of Buffalo; two great-grandsons, Cameron Barber and Landon Livingston and special nieces, Linda Mayes of Jonesville and April Holt Gregory. Mrs. Davis was predeceased by two sisters, Marion Holt and Wilsie Morris, a brother, Jimmy Grady and a special niece, Barbara Jean Holt. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Thursday, March 20, 2014 at the SR Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Merritt Wentz and Mr. Jerry Gossett. Burial will be in Bogansville United Methodist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Cameron Barber, Landon Livingston, Ken Edens, David Scott, Drew Owen, Nick Shetley, Artie Mayes, Joey Mayes and Brad Childers. The following are asked to serve as the Honorary Escort: Mr. & Mrs. Billy Millwood, Mr. & Mrs. Willie Shetley, Mr. & Mrs. Larry Lawson, Mr. & Mrs. Harold Lawson, Mr. & Mrs. Keith Gregory and Mr. & Mrs. Robert Edens. Visitation will be held 7:00-9:00 PM Wednesday evening at the SR Holcombe Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Bethel United Methodist Church, 1705 Lockhart Hwy, Union, SC 29379. The family is at the home of her son, Steve and Kitty Davis, 115 Springdale Drive, Union.
