Helen Mcbride Fowler

Mrs. Helen McBride Fowler, age 82, widow of James W. Fowler, formerly of 141 Park Drive, Jonesville, passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at Spartanburg Medical Center. Mrs. Fowler was born in Jonesville, SC July 25, 1934, one of six daughters to the late Ernest McBride and Lillie Rochester McBride. She was a graduate of Jonesville High School and retired as assistant clerk with the City of Jonesville Town Hall. Mrs. Fowler was a member of Jonesville Baptist Church where she had served as a former Sunday School Teacher and a member of the Happy Hearts. Surviving are three daughters: Rhonda Herring of Spartanburg, Andrea Smith and husband Eddie of Union, and Billie Morgan and husband Charles of Duncan; three sisters: Muriel Freeman of Jonesville, Carol Faucette of Union and Emily Eaves of Jonesville; two grandchildren: Olivia C. Sweat and husband Jamie and Hillary Smith and a great-granddaughter, Maveric Sweat. Mrs. Fowler was predeceased by a son-in-law, Daryl Herring and two sisters, Ernestine Vaughan and Geraldine Ivey. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, March 17, 2017 at Jonesville Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Scott Cannon ad Rev. Ralph Brown. Burial will be in Gilead Baptist Church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Jerry Ivey, Charles Whitehead, Derrill Eaves, Eric Eaves, David Faucette and Mark Adams. Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday evening at the Holcombe's Jonesville Chapel. Memorials may be made to Jonesville Baptist Church, P.O. Box 279, Jonesville, SC 29353. The family will be at their respective homes.
