Mrs. Helen Sue Betenbaugh Lawson, age 86, widow of Wilburn Richard "Booter" Lawson of 108 Halden Dr. Union, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, June 2, 2024.

Mrs. Lawson was born in Union, October 22, 1937, a daughter of the late Charlie Norman Betenbaugh, Sr. and Margaret Park Betenbaugh. She was retired from Torrington and Co. and had previously worked at Rose's Five and Ten. She was a faithful member of Tabernacle Baptist Church where she served in the Pre-School Ministry and was a Vacation Bible School worker. Mrs. Lawson loved her Lord. She enjoyed bible studies and was a fervent prayer warrior for many. She also enjoyed working in her yard, watching birds, Gamecock football and spending time with her grand and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are four sons, Keith Lawson and wife Beverly, Blake Lawson and friend Jeanne Malone, Phillip Lawson and wife Nancy and Eric Lawson and wife Michelle all of Union; a sister, Joyce Carson and husband Bruce of Campobello; and two brothers, Bruce Betenbaugh and wife Linda of Buffalo and Bob Betenbaugh and wife Pat of Union. She is also survived by grandchildren, Shannon Lawson Belouin and husband Daniel, Tyler Lawson, Amber Yarbrough and husband Eric, Jordan Lawson, Judson Lawson, Christian Lawson and Timothy Kamp Lawson, and great-grandchildren: Abigail Belouin, Avah Yarbrough, Norah Yarbrough, and Ryan Belouin. She was predeceased by a great-granddaughter, Emah Yarbrough and two brothers, Charlie Betenbaugh, Jr. and Carl Roper Betenbaugh.

Private services will be held at Rosemont Cemetery by the family at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tabernacle Baptist Church, Children's Ministry, 915 S. Pinckney St., Union, SC 29379.

The family will be at their respective homes.
