Mr. Henry Earl Crocker, age 87 of 828 Meansville Rd., Union, widower of Lillie Mae Boulware Crocker, passed away Thursday, October 22, 2015 at his home. Mr. Crocker was born in Union, September 29, 1928, a son of the late Elzie and Ila Harrison Crocker. He was retired after 49 years with United Merchants, Buffalo Plant and was a member of Putman Baptist Church. Mr. Crocker was an old fashioned rancher having raised cows and loved to ride his special horse "Buck" who predeceased him. He was an avid hunter and was on record as being the first man in Union Co. to harvest a deer with a traditional bow and arrow since the Indians. Surviving are a daughter, Marilyn C. Inman; two sons, Douglas Crocker and wife Lynne and Paul Crocker and wife Joanie; a sister, Thelma C. Smith; a brother, John Crocker all of Union; six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Mr. Crocker was predeceased by a granddaughter, Michelle Crocker and a sister, Ruth Smith. Funeral services will be held 4:00 PM Saturday, October 24, 2015 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Walter Holcombe. Burial will be in Union Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Gene Crocker, Dennis Crocker, Mike Smith, Tim Shull, Lannis Grubbs and Bobby Joe Grubbs. Visitation will be held from 2:00 until 4:00 PM Saturday at the chapel prior to the services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 154 Milestone Way., Greenville, SC 29615 or to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Gift Processing, 4742 North 24th Street, Suite 400, Phoenix, AZ 85016. The family will be at the home, 828 Meansville Rd., Union.
