Henry Lenard Sprouse

Mr. Henry Lenard Sprouse, age 87, husband of Marlene Spencer Sprouse, of 342 Sprouse Rd., Jonesville, went to be with the Lord, Friday, March 20, 2026, at his home.

Mr. Sprouse was born November 4, 1938, in Union, a son of the late Oatzel Sprouse and Ethel Sprouse Sprouse. He was a graduate of Jonesville High School and Limestone College. Mr. Sprouse owned and operated Sprouse Farms and had previously been an Engineer with South Carolina DOT for over 20 years. He was a Veteran of the South Carolina National Guard. Mr. Sprouse was a lifelong member of New Hope United Methodist Church where he was Treasurer of the Cemetery Committee for 17 years and various other committees. Henry was a member of Farm Bureau since 1977 where he had served as Chairman and Vice Chairman, he also served as the Commissioner of the Soil and Water Conservation of Union for 39 years.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 28 years are a step daughter, Crystal May and husband Brian; two step sons, Gregg Bennett and wife Amy and Jeffrey Bennett; two grandchildren who were the light of his life, Logan Bennett and Abby Bennett; a nephew, Stephen Sprouse and wife Jureda; a niece, Angie Plemons; and a great-niece, Jade Plemons; two predeceased brothers, Steve Sprouse and Gene “Butterbean” Sprouse.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, March 23, 2026, at New Hope United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Angelia Price. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Logan Bennett, Calvin King, Ryan Whitehead, Glenn Thomas, Tony Rector, and David Rector.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM prior to the services at the Church.

The family would like to thank the Doctors, Nurses and Staff of Gentiva Hospice for their love and care of Mr. Sprouse during his illness.
