Heyward “Buck” Sanders

December 9, 2015 Mr. Heyward "Buck" Sanders, age 82, husband of Mary Ann Ham Sanders of 134 Mt. Joy Church Rd., Jonesville, passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at Spartanburg Medical Center. Mr. Sanders was born in Union, SC January 13, 1933, a son of the late John Thomas Sanders and Pearl May Sanders. He retired from Atlantic Coast Life Insurance Company and was a member of Sardis United Methodist Church. Mr. Sanders was a Veteran of the US Army. Surviving in addition to his wife are a sister, Cornelia Sanders O'Shields and husband Edward; a brother, Wallace Sanders and wife Peggy of Pacolet; a sister-in-law, Jency Ham; a brother-in-law, Bo Ham both of Jonesville and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Sanders was predeceased by a sister, Rachel Sanders Smith; a brother, Ned Arthur Sanders and a nephew, Paul Heyward Smith. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, December 11, 2015 at Mt. Joy Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Alan West and Rev. Jeff Farmer. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Mark O'Shields, Lynn O'Shields, Jay Parks, Eric Parker, Kip Petty and Rick Black. Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday evening at the SR Holcombe Funeral Home. Joy Church Rd., Jonesville.
