Homer Lee Solesbee

Mr. Homer Lee Solesbee, age 83, husband of Nancy Elizabeth Haney Solesbee, of 48 Mill Run, N. Augusta, passed away, Thursday, August 11, 2022 at his home.

Mr. Solesbee was born April 15, 1939 in Landrum, a son of the late Grover Lee Solesbee and Eva I. Lawson Solesbee.  He was a graduate of Union High School and the University of Georgia.  Mr. Solesbee was retired from the United States Navy as a Chief Petty Officer.  He also retired from Augusta Technical College as Placement Coordinator.  Mr. Solesbee was a member of Putman Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 59 years are two children, Rodney Solesbee of Union and Tonya Solesbee Gilbert of North Augusta; and two grandchildren, Noah and LeAnn Gilbert.  He was predeceased by two sisters, Jean Gowan and Thelma Peters and a brother, Marl Solesbee.

Graveside services with Military Honors will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, August 13, 2022 at Putman Baptist Church Cemetery conducted by the Rev. Donald Tillman and Rev. Tommy Mann.  Visitation will be immediately the services in the Church Fellowship Hall.
