October 17, 2019 Hope Byars Hill, 95, passed away Wednesday, October 9, 2019. Born on October 16, 1923, she was a native of Lockhart, SC, and the widow of Frank O. Hill. She was a member of Philippi Baptist Church and the former organist and pianist at First Baptist Church of Lockhart and Philippi Baptist Church. She retired from Arthur State Bank where she proudly worked until age 84. Hope is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Martha and John W. McLure, III of Irmo, five grandchildren and their spouses: John and Susan McLure, Tony and Tina McLure, Margaret Hope and Kenley Loftis, Amy Hope and Steven Odom, Kathleen and Rick Langley; ten great-grandchildren: Jenny McLure, Will and Emily Odom, Jackson and Nate Loftis, Jill, Drew, and Zack Langley, Hope and Bates McLure; and nieces and nephews who were an important part of her life. She was predeceased by a son, Tony Frank Hill, her parents, David Douglas and Amma Meng Byars, and sisters, Helen, Ruth, Elizabeth (Bud), and Grace, and her brother, Jerry. Graveside services will be at 12:00 Noon, Friday, October 18, 2019 at Philippi Baptist Church Cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Brad Goodale. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
