Horace Glenn Corbett

Mr. Horace Glenn Corbett, age 78, husband of Kaye Garner Corbett of 113 Crestview Drive, Union, passed away Thursday, October 5, 2017 at Ellen Sagar Nursing Home. Mr. Corbett was born in Fountain, NC October 3, 1939, a son of the late Horace G. Corbett and Susie Mae Harris Corbett Joyner and step-father Dick Joyner. He was a graduate of Farmville High School in Farmville, NC and NC State University with a Degree in Chemistry. Horace began his textile career with Milliken in Union, SC and Lowenstein in Lyman, SC. He retired from Carlisle Finishing as a textile colorist following thirty-two years of service. Mr. Corbett was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and was active with the Yellow Jacket Booster Club where he was a Golden Member. He was also a member of the Clemson Club. In addition to his wife of fifty-one years are a son, Garner Glenn Corbett and fiancée Monica Mikan of Atlanta, GA; a sister, Phyllis Stainback of Henderson, NC and a brother, Alex Corbett of Farmville, NC. Memorial services will be held 2:30 PM Sunday, October 8, 2017 at Tabernacle Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Tommy Vaughn. Members of Bantam Chief Table of Wisdom, his McDonald's friends, his Supper Club Friends and Julia Adams and Stefanie Blanton of Medi Home Hospice Care of Union, are asked to sit in a group. Visitation will be held in the church following the service. Memorials may be made to Tabernacle Baptist Church Debt Reduction Fund, 915 S Pinckney Street, Union, SC 29379 or to Meals on Wheels, P.O. Box 951, Union, SC 29379. The family is at the home, 113 Crestview Drive, Union.
