Horace Franklin Owings

Mr. Horace Franklin Owings, age 84, of Union, SC went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at his home.

Mr. Owings was born in Santuc, SC July 25, 1937, a son of the late Luther H. Owings and Eva Garner Owings.  He was a graduate of Union High School and retired after thirty plus years with the City of Union water works, spending part of his career as a supervisor over distribution. After his retirement, Mr. Owings focused on his family and was an avid farmer and cattleman. He was a member of Duncan Acres United Methodist Church.

Mr. Owings is survived by three sons, three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. They are his son Robin Owings and his wife Donna, and their children, Karen Gregory and husband Neil and their daughter, Kaley Gregory and their son, Robert Owings and wife Katie and their daughter, Gracie Owings all of Union; his 2nd son,  Ralph Owings and special friend Denise of Union and his daughter, Jennifer O. Snyder and her children, Cayce, Emma, and Hayden Snyder of Roebuck; and his 3rd son, Phillip Owings of Union; a sister, Frances O. May of Columbia; a niece, Susan Vincent and husband Bob of Columbia; and a special friend, Wilma Neil. Mr. Owings was predeceased by a brother, Bobby Luther Owings.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, December 17, 2021, at Rosemont Cemetery conducted by the Rev. Merritt Wentz.  Visitation will follow immediately following the graveside service.

The family asks that those in attendance follow covid protocol by wearing mask and social distancing.

The family will be at their respective homes.
