Mr. Hugh Sanders, age 85, husband of Rebecca "Becky" Millwood Sanders, of 148 Bailey Road, Buffalo, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, June 5, 2025, at his home.
Mr. Sanders was born October 17, 1939, in Union, the son of the late Curtis Francis Sanders and Eva Mae Vinson Sanders. He retired from United Merchants Buffalo Plant after 39 years and later worked at Reeves Brother's in Spartanburg. Mr. Sanders was a faithful member of Buffalo Methodist Church where he was a member of the Curtis Sanders Sunday School Class, the Men's Breakfast Club, and had served as an Usher. He was a longtime Gamecock, avid Fisherman, and NASCAR fan. Mr. Sanders was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 65 years are two sons, Russ Sanders and wife Rhonda of Buffalo and Tracy Sanders and wife Lori of Buffalo; his twin brother, Hubert Sanders; three grandchildren, Courtney Lancaster and husband Tyler, Codey Sanders and wife Kelsey and Lee Sanders; four great-grandchildren, Eva, Ellie, and Hank Lancaster and Larson Sanders. He was predeceased by a sister, Betty Jean Eskew and two brothers, Harold Dean Sanders and Donnie "Duck" Sanders.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM Sunday, June 8, 2025 at Buffalo Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. Jeff Farmer and Rev. Ron Towery. Burial will follow at Union Memorial Gardens.
Active pallbearers will be Maxie Sanders, Mike Sanders, Mark Sanders, Ted Crane, Keith Wright, and Roger Bishop. The following are asked to sit in a group and form the honorary escort, Tim and Debbie Mitchell, Jimmy and Stella Ann Maness, Jimmy and Rozzie Kingsmore, Cathy Patrick, Judy Sherfield, Johnny Sherfield, Janet Edge, Amber Jennings, Savannah Richards, Steve and Robynne Burris, Jessica Lovelace, and the Curtis Sanders Sunday School Class.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM until 4:00 PM prior to the services at the church.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Gentiva Hospice, as well as, Cathy Patrick, and Judy Sherfield for their love and care of Mr. Sanders during his illness.
