Mrs. Inez Vanderford Cabaniss, age 87, formerly of Lockhart, widow of Ervin "Jack" Cabaniss, passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2015 in Moultrie, GA. Mrs. Cabaniss was born in Lockhart, SC on November 27, 1927 a daughter of the late T.G. "Shine" Vanderford and Maud St. John Vanderford. She was a member of Lockhart Free Will Baptist Church and was retired from Milliken Co., Lockhart Plant. Surviving are a son, Rev. Jackie Cabaniss and wife Gloria of Sylvester, GA; a grandson, Tony Cabaniss and wife Sherry of Hazelhurst, GA; a granddaughter, Angel Baker and husband Craig of Norman Park, GA; three brothers, Bill Vanderford and wife Pat of Spartanburg, Frank "Cricket" Vanderford of Lockhart and H.F. "Buck" Vanderford of Alvin, TX; two great-grandsons, Chase and Trevor Cabaniss of Hazlehurst, GA; and one great-granddaughter, Dakota Baker of Norman Park, GA. Mrs. Cabaniss was predeceased by one great-grandson Josh Pritchett. Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 12, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Lockhart Free Will Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Jackie Cabaniss and Rev. Bill Vanderford. Burial will follow in Mt. Tabor Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Mrs. Cabaniss' grand and great-grandsons, Tony Cabaniss, Chase Cabaniss, Trevor Cabaniss, Gary Turner, Brandon Turner, and Gary Vanderford. Miss Dakota Baker will serve as an honorary pallbearer. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM prior to the services at the church. Memorials may be made to Welch College, 3606 West End Avenue, Nashville, TN 37205-2403 or to Lockhart Free Will Baptist Church, 126 Askew Circle, Union, SC 29379. The family is at the home of her brother, Frank Vanderford, 135 South Main Street, Lockhart, SC 29364.
