Ira Benjamin Mills

March 11, 2020 Mr. Ira Benjamin "Binky" Mills, age 81, widower of Hazel Walton Mills, of 214 Williford Rd., Union passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at his home. Mr. Mills was born in Conway, January 10, 1939, a son of the late Jack and Edna Marlow Mills. He was retired from Milliken and Co. and was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. Surviving are two daughters, Marlene Mayfield of Spartanburg and Donna Floyd of Union; two sons, Dennis Nix and wife Tina and Rickey Mills all of Union; two brothers, Leonard "L.W." Mills and wife Virginia of Elko and David Mills and wife Betsey of Rock Hill; four grandchildren, Nikki Mills, Taylor Mills, Pamela Floyd, Benji Nix and wife Coleen; great-grandchildren: Chelsey Nix, Autumn Nix, Collin Mills, Ariel Mills and one great-grandson Blaine Floyd reared in the home. He is also survived by his beloved pet dog of 17 years, Craig Mills. Mr. Mills was predeceased by sisters, Cleopa Glasgow and Annette Mills and brothers, Robert Mills and Jerry Mills. The family would like to thank the staff Hospice Care of S.C. including Ann, Charlene, Joel, Lisa, Chad, the staff of SRHS and Home Care Services, Nicki Ivey, Darlene Howell and Bobby Butt for their care of Mr. Mills during his illness. Also, a special thank you to his caregivers, Sherry Woody, Vicki Hyder and Katilyn Brown. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, March 14, 2020 at Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery conducted by Rev. Ross Wilson and Rev. Guy Langston. Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Friday evening at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel. Memorials may be made to Fairview Baptist Church, P.O. Box 37, Union, SC 29379. The family will be at the home of his son, Dennis and Tina Nix, 187 Wilson Rd., Union and at their respective homes.
