Iris June Rector

October 28, 2018 Mrs. Iris June Proctor Rector, age 84, wife of Roy B. Rector of 111 Fairbanks St., Jonesville, passed away Saturday, October 27, 2018 at the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Mrs. Rector was born in High Point, NC, February 19, 1934, a daughter of the late Ray and Jessie Foster Proctor. She was a graduate of Jonesville High School and was retired from Wofford College. Mrs. Rector was formerly employed with APC, Inc. in Spartanburg. She was a life long member of Gilead Baptist Church where she was active in the Sunday School Dept. and was a member of the Choir. She was also a member of the WMU and served as a GA Leader. Mrs. Rector was a former member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed gardening and taking care of her family. Surviving in addition to her husband are a daughter, Beverly Doster; a son, Michael B. Rector and wife Alice all of Jonesville; two sisters, Brenda Tessner and husband Ken of Pacolet and Dianne Gault and husband Richard of Jonesville; one brother, Donald Proctor and wife Betty of Jonesville; four grandchildren: Dylan Doster and wife Natasha, Derek Doster, Kristy Mirandi and husband Wani, and Jessica Rector; eight great-grandchildren: Hailee Doster, Alayna Becknell, Bradyn Rector, Holdyn Rector, Olivia Mirandi, Evan Mirandi, Jessecca Rohm, and Michell Rohm; and a special cousin, Sue Viar of Roanoke, VA. Mrs. Rector was predeceased by a daughter, Patty Denise Rector. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at Gilead Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Dr. Eddie Saxon. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Mat Viar, Jerry Proctor, Scott Proctor, Phil Lipsey, Chad Gault and Gary Proctor. Visitation will be held from 1:30 until 3:00 Tuesday at the church prior to the services. Memorials may be made to Gilead Baptist Church, P.O. Box 38, Jonesville, SC 29353. The family will be at the home 111 Fairbanks St., Jonesville.
