Mr. Irvin Childers, age 85, husband of Yvonne Revis Childers of 1322 Main Street, Buffalo passed away Friday, March 18, 2022.
Mr. Childers was born in Lockhart, February 6, 1937, a son of the late Charlie and Pearle Watts Childers. He was a veteran of the United States Army and retired from Cone Mill-Carlisle Finishing plant. Mr. Childers was a member of Buffalo United Methodist Church and was a Master Mason at the Duncan Lodge 256.
Surviving in addition to his wife of sixty-two years are a daughter, Paula Wright (Keith) of Buffalo and a son, Richard Childers (Alicia) of Bennettsville; four grandchildren, Dona Nena Mullinnix (Phillip) of Charleston, Brenda Nicole Gowdy (Charlie) of Bennettsville, Rolston Childers (Hannah) of Hartsville, Alana Newton (Kyle) of Union; two great-grandchildren, Reed Davis and Wimberly Gowdy. Mr. Childers was predeceased by a daughter; Dona Nena Childers and he was the last surviving child of eleven children.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, March 21, 2022, at Buffalo United Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. Jeff Farmer and Rev. Kevin Dalton. Burial will follow at Rosemont Cemetery with Masonic Rites.
Active Pallbearers will be Dale Lanford, Jackie Phipps, Russ Sanders, Wayne Porter, Steve Porter, and Tommy Robertson.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the service at the church.
