Jack R. Blalock, Sr.

July 20, 2014 Union, SC Mr. Jack Randoph Blalock, Sr., age 84, of 129 5th St., Ottaray, SC. widower of Lillie Mae Jennings Blalock passed away Sunday, July 20, 2014 at Wallace Thomson Hospital. Mr. Blalock was born in Columbia SC., February 18, 1930, a son of the late Manning Earl Blalock and Minnie Lou Scruggs Blalock. He was a member of Ottaray Baptist Church and a veteran of the National Guards. Mr. Blalock retired after many years of service with Milliken Company. Surviving are a daughter, Dale Alexander and husband Lewis of Jonesville; three sons, Herman Blalock and wife Gail of Ottaray, Joe Blalock and wife Nancy of Union and Tim Blalock of Spartanburg; one brother, Bill Blalock and wife Carrie of Gaffney; Seventeen grandchildren, forty three great grandchildren and eleven great-great grandchildren. Mr. Blalock was predeceased by three sons, King Daniel Blalock, Jack Blalock, Jr. and Preston Blalock; two sisters, and four brothers. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at the S.R. Holcombe Chapel conducted by the Rev. Ricky Cook. Burial will be at Union Memorial Gardens. Active Pallbearers will be Jack Jennings, Dennis Bevis, Richard Farr, Jim Maness, Steven Birchfield, Herman Farr and Dean Bevis. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday evening at the S.R Holcombe Funeral Home. The family is at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Nancy Blalock, 222 Walnut St. Union, SC 29379.
