Jack Edwardvaughn

Mr. Jack Edward Vaughn, age 89 husband of Doris T. Vaughn of 209 Bennett St., Union, passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at his home. Mr. Vaughn was born in Greensboro, NC a son of the late Gideon Arthur Vaughn and Mary Hedderick Vaughn. He was retired from Cone Mill-Carlisle Finishing Plant. Mr. Vaughn was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. He loved his Lord, his family, and his country. Mr. Vaughn was a proud Veteran of United States Navy. Surviving in addition to his loving wife of 65 years are, one daughter, Kathy V. Zemp and husband Doug of Edisto Island; a daughter-in-law, Kim Bright Vaughn of Union; grandchildren, Lance Vaughn of Union, Rhett Zemp of Edisto Island, Crystal V. Medlock and husband Allen of Union, Patrick Zemp and wife Ashlan of Charleston, and Blake Zemp and wife Lauren United States Navy Jacksonville, Florida; two great-grandchildren, Skylynn Vaughn and Chloe Medlock; two brothers, Garland Vaughn of Union and Richard Vaughn of Greensboro, NC; and one brother-in-law, Curtis Cockman of Greensboro, NC. He was predeceased by one son, Jackie Vaughn; one granddaughter, Leslie Vaughn; one sister, Mary Frances Cockman; and three brothers, Bernard Vaughn, Howard Vaughn, and Albert Vaughn. Memorial services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Tabernacle Baptist Church conducted by his nephew Rev. Dr. Tommy Vaughn. Graveside services with Military Honors will be held at 12:00 Noon Saturday, prior to the memorial services at Union Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held following the memorial service at Tabernacle Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to Tabernacle Baptist Church, 915 S. Pinckney St., Union, SC 29379.
