Mr. Jack "Papa Jack" Jennings, Jr., age 69, husband of Janet Warren Jennings, of 169 Magner Drive, Union, passed away Friday, January 31, 2024 at Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC.

Mr. Jennings was born July 13, 1955 in Union, a son of the late Jack Jennings, Sr. and Nancy Brown Jennings.  He was a graduate of Union High School and retired as a machine operator from Timken & Co.  Mr. Jennings was a member of New Life Baptist Church.  He was also a member of the Cantrell Rod and Gun Club.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 40 years are three daughters, Angela Mattox, Shelley Lawson and husband Michael, and Shanna Bailey and fiancée Matthew Arnold all of Union; a sister, June Carol Jennings of Pauline; a brother, David Jennings and wife Rebecca of Union; eight grandchildren, Jamie Mattox, Brianna Mattox and fiancée James Miller, Carissa Mattox and fiancée Brandon Arms, Jonathan Lawson, Christopher Lawson and wife Cheyenne, Ally Sanford, Bella Arnold, and Dustin Keith Cromer and fiancée Madison Kearse; four great-grandchildren, Naomi Mattox, Kingston Mattox, Bexley Arms, and Levy Cromer; and a special aunt, Rebecca and James Carrol Smith of Pauline.  He was predeceased by a daughter, Regina Ann Jennings and a sister, Cynthia Lawson.

Memorial services will be held at 4:00 PM Monday, February 3, 2025 at New Life Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Shannon Faulkner.  Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM until 4:00 PM prior to the services at the church.
