Jack M. Scales

Mr. Jack Marion Scales, age 75, husband of Svetlana Balandina Scales of 609 Millbrook Dr., Spartanburg, passed away Friday, June 22, 2018 at his home. Mr. Scales was born in Union, December 14, 1942 a son of the late James Vernon "J.V." Scales and Evelyn Crowe Scales. He was a graduate of Union High School and Columbia Business College. Mr. Scales was a retired businessman having owned his own retail sales business and was a veteran of the US Navy. He was a devoted family man and a loving husband, father and grandfather. Surviving in addition to his wife are three daughters, Donna Augustine and husband Greg of Hayes, KS, India Fulkerson and husband Brian of Greer and Jaclyn Glover and husband Benjamin of Boiling Springs; one son, Dennis Scales of Spartanburg; six grandchildren, Nate Augustine and wife Suzanna, Beth Pfannenstiel, Noah Glover, Jonah Glover, Molly Kate Glover and Ashlyn Fulkerson; four great-grandchildren, Carter and Madison Augustine and Reid and Eli Pfannenstiel. Mr. Scales was predeceased by his wife of 25 years, Doris Galloway Scales of Walhalla and by by two sisters, Nancy Cohen and Margie Henderson. A graveside memorial services with Military Honors will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, July 1, 2018 at Union Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends immediately following the services at the graveside.
