Jackie Wilburn Cody

Mrs. Jackie Wilburn Cody, age 79, of 312 Catawba St., Union, widow of Frank D. Cody, passed away Thursday, December 22, 2016 at her home. Mrs. Cody was born in Union, SC on October 27, 1937 a daughter of the late Fred Wilburn and Juanita Phillips Wilburn. She was a graduate of Union High School and Cecil's Business College. Mrs. Cody retired as bookkeeper from NAPA of Union. She was an active member of Tabernacle Baptist Church where she was a member of Keenager Club, the Tomi Vaughan Sunday School and served on the Benevolence Committee. Surviving are one son, Don W. Cody and wife Donna of Union; a beloved granddaughter, Kayla Cody of Union; and several cousins including a special cousin, Melissa Phillips Gregory and husband David of Union. She was predeceased by one brother, Phillip M. Wilburn. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, December 24, 2016 at Union Memorial Gardens conducted by the Rev. Dr. Tommy Vaughan. Visitation will be immediately following the services at the cemetery. The family wishes to extend a special "Thank you" to the staff and nurses of MediHome Hospice and members of the Tomi Vaughan Sunday School Class for their care and concern of Mrs. Cody during her illness.
