Jackson Rash

Mr. Jackson "Jack" Rash, age 97, widower of Betty Covington Rash, of 209 Belvue Drive, Union, passed away, Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at his home.

Mr. Rash was born June 28, 1927, a son of the late Lewis Ryland Rash and Grace Faison Rash, in La Crosse, VA. He was a 1951 graduate of Virginia Tech, where he played baseball and graduated with a BS in Engineering. Mr. Rash was also an Army veteran. He was a faithful member of Grace United Methodist Church, served on several committees at Grace, a member of the Union County Historical Society, served as a member of the Southside Fire District Board and enjoyed being a part of the morning Table of Wisdom at the Bantam Chef of Union.  Mr. Rash retired from the Cone Mills, Carlisle Plant, where he was the plant engineer for a number of years.

Mr. Rash is survived by a son, David Jackson Rash and his wife, Terri of Orangeburg, daughters, Nancy Comer and her husband Bill of Lexington and Becky Winslow of Spartanburg. He is also survived by grandchildren, Brett Comer (Kristina), Garret Winslow (Casey), Erin Montgomery (Matt) and Bailey Winslow (Kristi). There are 8 great grandchildren and a niece and nephew. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Rash was predeceased by a brother, Lewis Ryland Rash II and a sister, Jane Matthews.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, March 21, 2025 at Grace United Methodist Church Cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Lee Phillips. Visitation will follow the service in the Grace United Methodist Church Social Hall.

The Table of Wisdom is asked to sit together as Honorary Pallbearers.
