James Donald Brewington

November 30, 2016 Mr. James Donald "Pete" Brewington, age 79, husband of Lillie Mae Callicutt Brewington of 3985 Buffalo-West Springs Hwy, Jonesville, passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at Union Medical Center. Mr. Brewington was born in Union, SC March 18, 1937, a son of the late Guy Brewington, Sr and Bertha Mae Duckett Brewington. He was a retired textile worker and was previously employed with Union Recycle Center. Mr. Brewington was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and a former member of the South Carolina National Guard. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, James Scott Brewington and wife Lea of Gaffney and five grandchildren: Melaine Brewington, Madisen Brewington, Matthew Brewington all of Union, Lea Anne Barrett and Keith Batchler, Jr both of Gaffney. Mr. Brewington was predeceased by a sister and five brothers. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, December 2, 2016 at Friendship Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Chris Collins and Rev. Jeff Dean. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be David Brewington, Josh Wilburn, Andy Bogan, Frank Hart, John Ward and Joey Mayes. Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday evening at the SR Holcombe Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Friendship Baptist Church, 830 Friendship Church Rd., Pauline, SC 29374. The family will be at the home, 3985 Buffalo West Springs Hwy, Jonesville, SC 29353.
