James Carol Caldwell

August 15, 2018 Mr. James Carol Caldwell, age 78, of 228 Burgess Rd., Jonesville, widower of Brenda Hutcherson Caldwell, passed away Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at his home. Mr. Caldwell was born April 26, 1940 in Union, a son of the late Paul A. Caldwell and Grace Sumner Caldwell. He was retired from Torrington & Co.-Tyger River Plant and had formerly worked for Union County at the Recycling Center in Jonesville. Mr. Caldwell was a volunteer with Bonham Fire Department for over 25 years. He was a former coach of various little league football and baseball teams. Surviving are two sons, Russell Caldwell of the home and Bucky Caldwell of Myrtle Beach; two sisters, Frances Davis and Vickie Henderson both of Union; two brothers, Larry Caldwell of Jonesville and Charlie Caldwell of Cross Keys; close family friends, Rick and Wanda Drain of Union; four grandchildren, Tyler Caldwell, Jessica Dunn, Clarisa Caldwell and Mary Kaytlin Caldwell; six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one brother Billy Dean Caldwell. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Fairforest Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Mark Truitt and Rev. Johnny Burgess. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home.
