James Henry Canupp

Mr. James Henry Canupp, age 91, of 3924 Miller Rd., Sharon, widower of Marjorie Hamm Canupp, passed away, Monday, August 2, 2021 at the home of his daughter.

Mr. Canupp was born November 13, 1929 in Lockhart, a son of the late William T. Canupp and Lula Miller Canupp.  He was retired from Milliken & Co.—Lockhart Plant.  Mr. Canupp was a veteran of the United States Army having served in the Korean War.  He was a member of Lockhart Free Will Baptist Church.  Mr. Canupp was a former member of the American Legion.  He was a loving husband and father who enjoyed traveling and working outside.

Surviving are two daughters, Judy Biggerstaff of Union and JoAnne Skeen and husband Rick of Sharon with whom he made his home; four grandchildren, Cynthia Dawn Patterson and husband Steve, Eric Morris, Jessica Lankford Edwards and husband Chris, and Jeremy Lankford and wife Leslie; nine great-grandchildren, Gracey Morris, Pressley Morris, Jacob Morris, Gabrielle Boyd and husband Kyle, AJ Patterson, Hannah Hill, Brianna Hill, Michael Lankford, and James Lankford; and six great-great-grandchildren, Adeline Boyd, Jackson Boyd, Beau Grady Boyd, Diana Hall, Ezra Smith, and Nevaeh Dinneen.  He was predeceased by a son, James Edward "Eddie" Canupp and a son-in-law, Johnny Biggerstaff.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at Lockhart Free Will Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Sam Baine.  Burial with Military Honors will follow at Lockhart Cemetery.

Visitation will be held 6:00 until 8:00 PM Tuesday evening at Lockhart Free Will Baptist Church.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Agape Hospice and special caregiver Sandy Wade for their care, love, and compassion given to Mr. Canupp during his illness.
