Mr. James William "Jim" Crow, age 73, husband of Hazel Dyer Crow of 429 Oakland Rd., Union, passed away suddenly Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Mr. Crow was born in Union, March 2, 1940, a son of the late Frank A. Crow and Annie Belle Kennett Crow. He was a graduate of Union High School, attended the University of South Carolina and graduated the Duke University School of Divinity. Mr. Crow was a retired minister with the Southern Methodist Conference and also retired from Paradise Home Center. He was a member of Beaumont Baptist Church in Spartanburg. Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Frank Thomas Crow and wife Cheryl of Moorehead City, NC; two daughters, Patti C. Shetley and husband Rev. Joey Shetley of Chester and Rosanne C. Garrett and husband Jimmy of Chesnee; six grandchildren, Katie C. Rupard and husband Jack, 1st Lt. Seth Thomas Crow, James Thomas Shetley and wife Jane E., Meris S. Jenkins and husband Rev. Jonathan Jenkins, Justin Andrew Garrett and wife Channing, and Jordan Taylor Garrett; and four great-grandchildren, Autumn Shetley, Aiden Shetley, Makensie Jenkins and Kaleb Jenkins. Funeral services will be held 4:00 PM Thursday, February 6, 2014 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel. Members of the Adventures Sunday School Class of Beaumont Baptist Church are asked to sit in a group. Visitation will be held 6:00 until 8:00 PM Wednesday evening also at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home. The family will be at the home, 429 Oakland Rd., Union.
