Mr. James Frank Dickerson, age 91 of Union, widower of Maggie Mabry Dickerson, passed away Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at Woodruff Manor. Mr. Dickerson was born in Union, SC May 6, 1923, a son of the late Butler Dickerson and Ester Couch Dickerson. He retired from United Merchants- Buffalo Plant and was a member of Anderson Mill Road Baptist Church of Moore, SC. Mr. Dickerson was a Veteran of the United States Army having served in World War II. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Surviving are a son, James R. "Jim" Dickerson and wife Amelia of Moore. Mr. Dickerson was predeceased by two sisters, Nancy Karbowski and Louise Williams. Graveside services will be held 11:30 AM Saturday, October 25, 2014 at Union Memorial Gardens conducted by Rev. Dr. D.J. Horton with Military Honors. Active pallbearers will be Mike Catto, Tony Eubanks, Jimmy Mabry, Rick Mode, Johnny Riddle and TJ Setro. Visitation will be held at the graveside immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Anderson Mill Road Baptist Church Building Fund, 4371 Anderson Mill Road, Moore, SC 29369. The family would like to express their appreciation for the care that the staff of Unit 1 of Woodruff Manor gave to Mr. Dickerson. The family is at the home of his son, Jim and Amelia Dickerson, 246 Donegal Drive, Moore, SC.
