August 5, 2015 Mr. James Samuel "Jimmy" Faucett, age 83, loving husband and father, went home to be with the Lord on August 4, 2015. Born in Union Co., February 25, 1932, he was the son of the late Norman and Estelle Goings Faucett. A veteran of the Korean War, he served in the United States Army where he received the National Defense Service Metal, the United National Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, Meritorious United Citation and a Good Conduct Medal. Jimmy was a life time member of Foster's Chapel United Methodist Church and a retired textile worker for Milliken and Company. An avid farmer for all of his life, he sold produce at the Union County Farmer market up until his illness. He is survived by his wife, Carol McBride Faucett, who so lovingly cared for him during his illness the past two years; his four children, Norman Eugene Faucette and wife Penny of Houston TX, Becky Wyatt and husband Rick of Spartanburg, David Faucett of Union, and Joye Dillard and husband Hugh of Fountain Inn. Grandchildren are Carrie Faucette, Nathaniel Faucette, Patrick Faucette, Samuel Faucette, Farrah Wyatt, Tyler Wyatt, Lauren Wyatt, Mason Dillard and Grant Dillard. Great-grandchildren are Alexis Wyatt, Brooklyn Wyatt and Keeli Parker and a soon to be great-grandson. He is also survived by his brothers, Billy Faucett and wife Connie of North Augusta, Fred Faucett and wife Doris of Jonesville, and Lynn Faucett of Union. Sisters are Margie Robinson and husband Jimmy of Jonesville, and the late Evelyn Garner of Union and Shirley Sander of Jonesville. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Thursday, August 6, 2015 at Foster's Chapel United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Glenn Ribelin and Riley Hammond, Chaplain of Ark Hospice. Burial with Military Honors will be at Foster's Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday from 1:30 until 3:00 PM at the church prior to the services. The following grandson will serve as the active pallbearers, Mason Dillard, Grant Dillard, Tyler Wyatt, Nathaniel Faucette, Patrick Faucette and Samuel Faucette. Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Eaves, Bill and Rosalee Clowny, Betty Jo Gallman, David Gallman, Chad Ponder, Jason Bishop, Glover Morris, Bill Shilling, Bruce Randolph, Bill Hovis, Chad Barfield, Toney Farr, Stanley Smith, Willard Farr, Employees of Ark Hospice and Farmers of the Union Co. Farmer's Market. The family would like to thank Ark Hospice, nurses and caregivers for the wonderful care they gave Jimmy during his illness. The family also would like to thank all those who sent cards, flowers, brought food weekly, visited regularly and to all of those family members who helped with his care.
