James Ernest Floyd

July 31, 2019 Mr. James Ernest Floyd, age 79 of Francis Ave., Union, widower of Altie Pridemore Floyd, passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2019. Mr. Floyd was born May 20, 1940 in Union, a son of the late Garrison Floyd and Ruth Vanderford Floyd. He was a graduate of Lockhart High School and retired from Milliken & Co.-Gillespie Plant. Mr. Floyd was retired from the South Carolina National Guard Union Unit. He was a member of Philippi Baptist Church. Surviving are a sister, Jenny McFalls; a sister-in-law, Esther Floyd; nine special grandchildren, Destiny Cipriano, Denise Cipriano, Marie Davis, Audrey Warren, Denise Howell, Angel Sorrells, Lea Wisham, Joy Wells, and Sarah Glover; and several other great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by two brothers, Leroy Floyd and Ronald Floyd. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM Saturday, August 3, 2019 at Lakeside Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Scott Cobb. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Union Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Friday, August 2, 2019 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Lakeside Baptist Church, 640 Lakeside Drive, Union, SC 29379. The family is at the home of his granddaughter, Marie Davis, 817 Meansville Rd., Union, SC 29379.
