James Earl Howell

Mr. James Earl Howell, age 61, of 8868 Lockhart Hwy., Sharon, passed away Thursday, July 13, 2023, at Spartanburg Medical Center.

Mr. Howell was born in Union, March 14, 1962, a son of Virginia Ogle Howell of the home and the late Bergin Eugene Howell. He attended Lockhart Schools and was formerly employed in car sales. From an early age, Earl loved cars and attending auto auctions. He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed being on the lake on a pontoon.

Surviving in addition to his mother are four sisters, Kathy Rumfelt and Cristy Edwards both of Sharon, Denise Moore and husband Fred of Chesnee and Sandra Freeman of Pacolet; two brothers, Dean Howell and wife Kim of Buffalo and Donald Howell of Leesville; and numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Diane Belk.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, July 17, 2023, at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Sam Baine. Burial will follow at Bullock Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Sunday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers will be Miles Howell, Ross Howell, Zach Freeman, Joe West, Joseph Rumfelt, Stan Eaves, Bo Smith and Freddie Crawford.

The family will be at the home, 8868 Lockhart Hwy., Sharon.
