James W. “Jimmy” Belk, Jr.

February 9, 2018 Mr. James W. "Jimmy" Belk, Jr. age 77, husband of Judy Duncan Belk of 128 Pinewood Acres Rd., Union, passed away Friday, February 9, 2018 at Providence Health Hospital. Mr. Belk was born January 17, 1941 in Spartanburg, a son of the late James Willie Belk, Sr. and Fulton Bailey Belk. He was a member of Morningside Baptist Church where he was a member of the Security Team. Surviving in addition to his wife of 54 years are two daughters, Kim Belk Ballenger and husband Greg of Greer and Rhonda Belk Seaver and husband Rick of Huntersville, NC; one son, Chris Belk and wife Doris of Honolulu, Hawaii; one sister, Barbara Belk Kitchens of Union; one brother, Robert Lee Belk of Oregon; one granddaughter, Karson Fleming of Huntersville, NC; five grandsons, Jeff Ballenger of Greer, Justin Ballenger of Greer, Benson Fleming of Huntersville, NC, Tanner Belk of Honolulu, Hawaii, and Kellan Seaver of Huntersville, NC; and one great-granddaughter, Emma Davis of Greer. He was predeceased by one sister Mabel Belk Marshall. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, February 11, 2018 at Morningside Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Dr. Aubrey Calvert. Burial will follow at Union Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Mike Babb, David Barber, Rick Arthur, Jamie Cohen, Gerald Gregory, and Donnie Warren. Mr. Belk's Sunday School Class and his golfing friends are asked to sit in a group and form the honorary escort. Visitation will be held from 1:30 until 3:00 PM prior to the services at the church. Memorials may be made to Morningside Baptist Church Building Fund, 112 Bates Ave., Union, SC 29379. The family is at the home of his sister, Barbara Kitchens, 233 Woodhaven Dr., Union SC 29379.
