James Earl “Jimmy” Greer

Mr. James Earl "Jimmy" Greer, age 63, husband of Kim Vaughan Greer, 1385 Jonesville Hwy., Union, passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Mr. Greer was born August 2, 1955 in Union, a son of the late Clarence Earl Greer and Athleen Ivey Greer. He attended Union High School and was the owner of Union Auto Salvage. Mr. Greer was a member of New Life Baptist Church where he was Head Usher and a member of the Greeting Committee. Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Jim Greer and wife Nicole of Union and Jeffrey Greer and wife Malerie of Jonesville and four grandchildren, Mason Greer, Aydin Greer, Wesley Greer, and Addi Reese Greer. He was predeceased by a sister, Joyce Greer Ward. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Friday, December 21, 2018 at New Life Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Shannon Faulkner and Rev. Todd Davis. Burial will follow at Union Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Eddie Wayne Davis, Jimmy Crawford, Phil Ransom, Jamie Gallman, Kyle O'Shields, and Tommy Garrett. The Ushers of New Life Baptist Church are asked to sit in a group and form the honorary escort. Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Thursday evening at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel. The family is at the home, 1385 Jonesville Hwy., Union, SC 29379.
