James Larry Parris

Mr. James Larry Parris, age 76, of 151 Pine Creek Dr., Spartanburg, widower of Nancy Bright Parris, passed away, Monday, January 13, 2025 at his home.

Mr. Parris was born March 29, 1948 in Cherokee County, SC, a son of the late Junior Parris and Thelma Pack Parris.  He was a retired construction worker.  Mr. Parris was a member of New Beginnings Christian Fellowship Church.

Surviving are three children, Lori Wall (Terry Alexander) of Union, Becky Gregg (Danny) of Spartanburg, and Ray Parris (Kaye) of Spartanburg; a daughter-in-law, Donna Parris, ten grandchildren, Douglas Upton, Summer Winzenreid, Kelsi Harvell, D.J. Gregg, Reba Martin, Destiny Cauthen, Mandy Parris, Matthew Parris, Buddy Cash, and David Castruita; and twenty one great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Larry Parris; a granddaughter, Labreeska Upton; four brothers; and one sister.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, January 16, 2025 at New Beginnings Christian Fellowship Church in Pacolet conducted by Pastor Lisa Parfitt.  Burial will follow at Hammett Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be D.J. Gregg, Hunter Cauthen, Buddy Cash, Matthew Parris, Caleb Harvell, and Ben Bridges.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at New Beginnings Christian Fellowship Church, 480 Sunny Acres Rd., Pacolet, SC 29374.
