Mrs. Jancie Toney Sanders, age 79 of Main St., Buffalo, widow of Donald "Duck" Sanders, passed away Friday, June 13, 2025 at Union Post Acute.

Mrs. Sanders was born in Union, July 9, 1945, a daughter of the late William and Elezene Smith Toney.  After graduating from Union High School in 1963, Jancie pursued her passion for beauty and style by attending cosmetology school, where she trained to become a licensed cosmetologist. She went on to enjoy a fulfilling 49-year career in hairdressing, during which she owned and operated Buffalo Beauty Shop, serving her community with care and dedication. Mrs. Sanders was a member of Buffalo Methodist Church.

She is survived by the following cousins, Debbie Woodard and husband Bart of Union, Casey W. Kendrick and husband Matthew and "grandchildren", Grant and Emma Cate Kendrick, Cora Snyder of Buffalo, Cheryl Wilkins of Union, Susan Smith of Buffalo, Cynthia Dickey of Corpus Christi, TX, and Herbert Smith, Jr. of Fredericksburg, VA; a brother-in-law, Hubert Sanders and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Douglas Toney.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at Buffalo Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Jeff Farmer and Rev. Kevin Dalton. Burial will follow at Union Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the church prior to the services.

Active pallbearers will be Russ Sanders, Tracy Sanders, Maxie Sanders, Mike Sanders, Mark Sanders and Matthew Kendrick.

The family will be at their respective homes.
