Jane Lawter Valentine

April 3, 2016 Mrs. Jane Lawter Valentine, age 67, wife of Neil Valentine of 523 Lakeview Heights, Union, passed away Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Valentine was born in Union, April 17, 1948, a daughter of the late James Harry Lawter and Cornelia Smith Lawter. She was a graduate of Union High School and Cecil's Business College in Spartanburg. Mrs. Valentine worked in the business office at United Merchants, Union Plant for 31 years and she also retired from the S.C. Dept. of Corrections. She attended Bogansville United Methodist Church and was a very loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Surviving in addition to her husband are a daughter, Kelly V. Lawson and husband Lynn; a son, Brad Valentine and wife Brooke; a sister, Debbie L. Eaves and husband Lynn all of Union and four grandchildren, Abbie and Carson Valentine, and Joseph and Harrison Lawson. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at Bogansville United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Don Alexander, Mr. David Sinclair and Rev. Malachi Rodgers. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:30 until 3:00 PM at the church prior to the services. Active pallbearers will be Alan Bass, Sammy Smith, Robbie Gentry, Mike Petrie, Kevin Morrow, Steve Morrow, Tommy Parks and Tim Sweatt. The following are asked to form the honorary escort, the staff of Upstate Lung and Critical Care, the staff of Spartanburg Regional Medical Center, Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab., Dr. Patrick Flume, members of the Union Co. Motorsports Association, Jean Capps, Heather Loftis, Wayne Garner, Earl and Pat Hendrix, Randy and Kay Wilburn, and Johnny and Nanci West.
