Janet Petrea Marks

Mrs. Janet Petrea Marks, age 90, of 358 Fairwood Blvd., Union, widow of the late John Lewis Marks, passed away, Thursday, July 9, 2026, at her home.

Mrs. Marks was born April 5, 1936, in Bridgeport, CT, and was the daughter of the late Roderick O’Brien and Myrtle Signer. She was a graduate of Bassick High School in Bridgeport, CT. Mrs. Marks previously worked at the Union County Library as a Librarian and Bookkeeper. She was a member of the Augsburg Lutheran Church.

Surviving are two sons, John Michael Marks of Union and Paul Douglas Marks and wife Roanna of Gaffney; three grandchildren, James Michael Marks of Rock Hill, Katelyn Michelle Marks of Salisbury, and Brian Marks of Forest City; and three great-grandchildren, Charlotte Jade Williams of Sailsbury, Brandon Marks of Forest City and Brianna Marks of Forest City.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Augsburg Lutheran Church conducted by Rev. Mike Shackleford. Burial will follow at Rosemont Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM prior to the services at the church.
