Janice L. Carter

January 28, 2018 Mrs. Janice Langford Carter, age 80, wife of Charles Clay of 22435 South Carolina Hwy. 121, Whitmire, SC. passed away Saturday, January 27, 2018. Mrs. Carter was born April 3, 1937 in Newberry, SC a daughter of the late Cecil B. Langford and Myrtle Smart Langford. She was first married to the late Jack C. Carter and later married the late James Lever. Mrs. Carter was a graduate of Whitmire High School and later received her Nursing degree. She retired from Wallace Thomson Hospital after forty years, then worked for Dr. Fielder for ten years. Mrs. Carter was a member of Heritage Wesleyan church. Surviving in addition to her husband, Charles Clay are a special friend, Judy Ward of Whitmire. She was predeceased by her sister, Norma. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Heritage Wesleyan Church conducted by the Rev. Mark A. Stevenson. Burial will follow at Whitmire Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Heritage Wesleyan Church, 191 Broom Street, Whitmire, SC.
