Janie W. Brown

Mrs. Janie Rose Willard Brown, age 76, wife of Rev. Ralph E. Brown of 137 Academy St., Jonesville, passed away Friday, October 18, 2024 surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Brown was born in Union, July 8, 1948, a daughter of the late Joe Willard Sr. and Myrtle Helton Willard. She was a 1966 graduate of Union High School and retired after 21 years with Mary Black Memorial Hospital. She served as Director of Volunteer Services at the hospital for the last 17 years of her employment. Mrs. Brown was a member of Rehoboth Baptist Church and she faithfully served along side her husband at churches in Taylors, Boiling Springs, Jonesville and Gaffney.

Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters, Kerri Brown of the home and Misti Motte and husband Casey of Boiling Springs; a son, Chad Brown and wife Alisha of Fountain Inn; a sister, Joan W. Parks and husband Jerry of Union and a brother, Joe Willard, Jr. and wife Wanda of Georgia. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Marrah Beard and husband Johnny, Aaron Troutman and wife Makayla, Jenna Motte and fiance' Chandler Messer, Bryn Troutman, Emma Gail Brown, Maebry Motte, Isaiah Brown, Anderson Motte and Bethany Brown; and three great-grandchildren, Koen Troutman, Salem Beard and Raelynn Troutman.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday October 27, 2024 at Rehoboth Baptist church conducted by Rev. John Parris, Rev. Joe Sparks, Rev. Curt Bradford and Rev. Ralph Brown. Members of the 1966 graduating class of Union High School are asked to sit in a group.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at Rehoboth Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rehoboth Baptist Church, 110 Rehoboth Rd., Gaffney, SC 29340 or to Spartanburg Regional Hospice, 1530 Drayton Rd., Drayton, SC 29333.

The family will be at the home of her daughter, Misti and Casey Motte, 211 Bay Hill Dr., Boiling Springs, SC 29316.
